Buy at your own risk. Just google "problems with Onkyo Receivers"

I know from personal experience. Bought an earlier model of this receiver, HDMI output circuitry failed requiring sending off for repair leaving me without my home theater for a month. Never buying an Onkyo again.

I've had several Onkyos (not this model) with no problems.

As far as what Newegg and the rest of the net is offering on receivers for Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales this is one of the clear leaders for "bang for buck" (assuming it continues to work). Will likely more than meet most people's needs. Just make sure you're not going to miss the Dolby Pro Logic IIz and you really understand how the "Zone 2" will work if you plan to use it because it is not what most people expect it to be.

I believe this is the number one selling receiver on Amazon. There is a reason for that. You get a lot of features at a very reasonable price. I have the predecessor (which looks identical) to this model (TX-NR616) that I bought over 2 years ago for around $350. I have had no problems with it and have no problem highly recommending it.
