Great price. But I'd take the lower end THX certified Pioneer receivers over this any day.

Get the panasonic XR55 D-class receiver instead. For 200 bucks that is an amazing bargain.

Denon is your best choice hands down. Quality at every level.

#2 and #3, Onkyo refurbs are practically brand new. I should know, I own one. Most are factory reconditioned to new and if anything, will have minor cosmetic defects. Mine had none. Came with everything like new, stickers on the receiver, remote, user guides, advertisements for accessories, speaker wire, batteries, etc.

They make and onkyo 604 that has the HDMI, not sure if it is 1080, but I would geuss taht it is.

I have this reciever and it is great. The features are easy to use and the sound is great. I am using the zone 2 feature for upstairs speakers and it is a great function. If you are looking for an mid level model to start off with i highly recomend this one.

I need one by Christmas to attach the xbox 360 too. This looks good but I worry about the refubs too. I have a new Onkyo on the main TV that has been outstanding.

#9- I have three Onkyo refurbs (303, 602, 702) and all of them have been fine. There is no way to tell they are refurbs. They looked good as new and function perfectly.

I've had the tx-sr501 onkyo receiver from a few years back and have used to for probably 10+ a day for 3 years. The thing is a beast and has great sound quality and build quality. I would get this over any other receiver that costs less than $500 save for a marantz.

I have the 674 W/ HDMI ECT. AND I love it! The 603 is a excellent entry level receiver.

I bought an Onkyo refurb a few years ago and it came in perfect condition (the only way to tell it wasn't new was the "refurb" sticker on the box) and has performed flawlessly. If I needed another receiver I wouldn't hesitate to jump on this deal.

Look at all the deals at their outlet. This is a good value although I was drooling over their high end model.

I recently bought an Onkyo home theater system refurbished and it came looking brand new. It was the 5.1 system with HDMI switching. The DVD player it came with looks pretty nice but mine was messed up (was placing vertical bars on only one side of the picture). Anyway, called up Onkyo and they're sending me a replacement. All I need to do is put the old one in the box, slap on a pre-paid shipping label they sent me, and call fedex. Onkyo's service has impressed me!

<cry> converts all inputs to component out? Drool. I have an older 6XX-- LOVE IT, but I have to switch both the TV and the receiver. I have a refurb Onkyo DVD changer, came in mint condition, bought it with AmEx Blue which extends the warranty by a year, (citi rewards does, too) so really you shouldn't have to worry about it, you still get a great warranty if you use the right credit card
