WRAT-Wide Range Amplifier Technology (10 Hz-100 kHz bandwidth)
75 Watts/Channel @ 8 ohms (FTC), Massive High Power Transformer
HDTV-Ready Component Video Switching (3 Inputs/1 Output), no HDMI
This think is very weak. Buyer beware. It would be good as an extra stereo, but it doesn't have the power to really drive a home theater.

Not true. A great buy on a terrific receiver.

You are wrong, while it may not have the power to drive a large home theater it provides plenty of clean power for a small to midsized apllication. This greater for an apartment or first home theater.
I have an 8-year Onkyo 5.1 amplifier, with 50 watts per channel. It delivers more than enough clean power for the average-size living room or family room. I paid more than $130 back in the day, that's for sure.
This one looks much superior to mine--after nearly a decade, that goes without saying. Onkyo components are ALWAYS the BEST bang for the buck, bar none.
I also have an Onkyo 6-CD changer, which sounds SO MUCH better than the Yamaha I tried on the same amp--proof again that Onkyo is superior. When I need a new system, I will only consider Onkyo components.
Don't miss out on this if you need a system. Just be aware than Onkyo receivers weigh about 30 pounds, and are quite large--check out the specs before buying if you need to fit it into an entertainment center or other cabinet.
I currently have the TXSR504 (BLACK)setup in my living room which is 15' X 19' X 9' I am using Athena Technologies POINT 5 MK II System & WS-15's for the surround back (L+R). I must say that this receiver has more than enough power to run everything extremely loud with the volume set @ 35-40 & is able to keep the sound CLEAN! Not sure if it matters, but I am using monstercable THX 14awg wire plumbed through the walls to connect everything.
