      Part 1
Awesome price. I had bought this camera directly from Panasonic 2 years ago ( bought 2 of them, at a considerably higher price than this $300 price), and I wrote the following review on Panasonic's site:

Pros: Compact, Convenient, Leica 25-600mm f2.8 all the way, completely flexible screen, battery life

Cons: Poor documentation, lack of a printed pocket manual, lack of firmware updates, inability to recognize 64gb SDXC (newer ones), certain macro colors can be far from actual colors, small sensor

"The FZ200 is a nice all around camera. I carried it around all the time when I didn't feel like carrying my heavy Canon DSLR and its very heavy L lenses, until I purchased the awesome LF1 [Panasonic DMC-LF1].

The Leica lens with its 25-600mm, and constant, f2.8, aperture all the way from 25-600mm is the camera's best feature. It does a good job when shooting birds, or wildlife in general, or maybe spying on the neighbor while sunbathing for some folks! I attach a Canon video extender (1.4x) to the front of the lens for shooting birds, and that makes it even more powerful. I have captured some great videos of hummingbirds using this setup on a tripod from a distance.

The ability to shoot video at 120 and 240 frames/second is a very nice feature as well, and I have used it while taking videos of hummingbirds.

      Part 2
What I don't like is the sensor size, but I understand that it wouldn't be possible to package such a lens with a large sensor without making the camera considerably larger and heavier.
The ability to shoot RAW is a wonderful feature, but the lack of firmware updates, and no pocket-size (printed) manual is quite annoying. A firmware update would be greatly appreciated so the camera can recognize newer SDXC (64GB) formats.

I don't carry the FZ200 nowadays as much as I used to because I bought the Panasonic LF1, which fits nicely in a shirt pocket, has a larger sensor, WiFi, control ring, and an adequate Leica lens. I love the LF1.

In addition to the above, the high-speed shooting capability of the FZ200 is a very helpful feature, especially for fast-moving objects. I love this feature.

All in all, the FZ200 is a welcome addition to Panasonic's point-n-shoot fine cameras.
I highly recommend it for those who are NOT looking for a shirt-pocket size camera. This camera does not fit in a shirt pocket, or even in a larger pocket!"

I hope this helps you decide.

While the Leica-badged lens is definitely the number one head-turner on the FZ200's spec-sheet, the remainder reads very well too. As usual you can frame and review your images on either on the rear LCD or the electronic viewfinder. The latter is a new 0.2-inch variant with 1,312,000-dot equivalent resolution. The 'equivalent' part of this statement stems from its 'field-sequential' design - instead of having triplets of dots showing red, green and blue at all positions, it displays one color, then the next, at each position. The downside of this approach can be that if you move your eye quickly, or blink, you become aware of delays between the three colors being drawn - with colorful, rainbow-like edges appearing. Thankfully this display runs at 60hz, so this effect isn't too noticeable.

Is it just me or I don't see any way to add the FZ200 to your cart? Other models have an add to cart button.
