Bought this TV last year and I'm very, very pleased with it. Its only flaw is a noticeable buzz when switching between scenes of different brightness; more expensive panels have padding to dampen that. Also, like all panels, the built-in speakers are weak. But as far as picture quality or capabilities, it's a killer deal at this price. 3D works great, too.

Big fan of the Panny Plasma pannels. I would grab this if my 55" from a few years back wasn't still going strong.

Picture quality from a Plasma continues to blow away LCD technology.... I'm sure it will eventually catch up and maybe surpass plasma, but it hasn't happened. yet.

Only issues I see with plasma technology is possible image retention (which can be avoided/fixed if you follow some simple common sense), and higher energy use. The IR can be made a non-issue, but the power thing is harder. They are doing better, but plasma still uses twice the power (or more) of a similar sized LCD.

How about the other BIG issue of fading black level? is your 55" still have that darkness or did it becoming grey. You may have not notice it since you're watching it everyday. I've seen this a lot especially in the store where they crank up the brightness.

I have the GT version of this tv. Love the picture, but there are some gripes that should be brought up.

      1. 3D glasses are IR and typically $100 per.
      2. 3D glass sensor is on the lower bezel. My center channel has to be moved so it doesnt block the line of sight for the glasses.
      3. Remote could have been a bit better. Defiantly not universal category.
