Humidifiers should be on stupid-cheap clearance at the end of winter, I'd expect better pricing if you look around a bit.
BTW, 1.5 gallons per 90 hours is not a useful rate. Get a hygrometer and you'll discover that to beat back the dehumidifying effects of winter heating, you need to dump a ridiculous amount of water into the air, several gallons per day.
