Yeah the price on DVD burners has stagnated... Back when they first came out they devalued CDRW drives to the point of being free after rebate for quite a while, but now we have BR burners but no equivalent devaluation of DVD burners.
Had issues with these, go with ASUS.
My first DVD burner was on sale for $350, but that was many years ago.
