can anyone recommend what they believe is the best streaming product like slingbox? i've seen belkin @tv, slingbox, monsoon vulkano.

also, my isp limits upload to .75mb. is this even remotely fast enough to stream Standard Def. content via the internet?

Theoretically speaking could I use my neighbor's cable on my projector with this? Would it look good?

So this thing doesn't support HDMI nor WIFI? A true bargain if it was 1999.

from what i have researched. the box would have to be at your neighbors house, he/she would have to have internet to upload, when you are watching via the internet you have the ability to change the cable box.... so you could not watch one program and they watch another at the same time. you both would have to be watching the same thing at the same time. also, your projector would have to get the source from the internet... so you would have to hook projector up to a device that has internet, like a laptop.

there are so many ways around this though. and if most people are like my setup... my cable/dsl internet comes in house right where my tv is... so my router is right there anyways to run cable. otherwise just buy cheap wifi bridge or use old router capable of dd-wrt and use it as a wireless bridge.

what do you really need hdmi for anyways? these things are made for streaming... are you really going to stream 1080p to your mobile device? suck a lot of bandwidth to do that. if you just want to get picture to another tv in your home why not just get another box from your provider for a few dollars a month?
if you really need HD to tablet or another computer i don't think you will really tell the difference between 720p 1080i etc... on a 10" or smaller screen.

these things are for a niche market, they are def. not the end all be all of anything.

No HDMI ... no problem. Because of DRM having HDMI is all but useless.

No WIFI ... minor inconvenience. The reliability of a CAT6 over WIFI is WELL worth it to me. IMMV.

Watch your neighbour's cable ... perfectly doable. Either if he has good internet upload bandwidth, or if you live close enough to have a WIFI link between the two of you. A while back, pre Nagra3, I had a satellite box at my south facing neighbour's place and a wireless bridge between the sligbox in his balcony and my LAN. Flawless. 100% of the time.

I love these things. We have one (an older model from about five years ago) on the big TV in the living room, along with the Tivo. I can watch on my PC in my office, controlling the Tivo with the Tivo-like control on the PC screen.

I can also watch on my Android phone, but it really drains the battery.
