These are expensive to maintain and still uses high fructose corn syrup. Might as well go and buy SAMs Choice Cola.

Great price! I paid twice this price ($80) over a year ago. My wife and I really enjoy mixing up different flavors. We mix in Torani flavorings and it spices up the regular soda taste. The carbonation works well. We replace the empty CO2 tanks at Bed Bath and Beyond for $10 (with their $5 coupon). I have worked out the math and the cost averages to about $1.50 per 2 liters. Not quite Walmart prices, but less than 7/11. I like the control over the amount flavorings I can add and the variety in choices. Also, there are plenty of choices don't have high fructose corn syrup and are zero calories. I prefer the diet Dr. Pete! Not too shabby!

O2 tank cost almost the price of the unit. This is another concept of inkjet printer.

We love ours, we use it with MIO flavor instead of the soda stream flavors. Zero calories and quite tasty!

Just ordered one at HSN for $39.96 with "FlexPay" (3 Payments of $13.32) so it cost $13.32 to get it shipped out. Saw it in Walmart yesterday, and the kids went nuts begging me to buy it... I just couldn't justify $90.00 to "give it a try"
So this is awesome, and the kids will be shocked when it arrives. Looks good, been wanting to try it since it came out. I can imagine using it for a lot more than "soda"
I quite drinking soda a while back, and just drink water now. a lot of the time i use the no sugar crystal light style flavoring powders to make it enjoyable... BUT I really miss the carbonation of soda. I enjoy a carbonated drink more. with this I can make fairly healthy drinks that I will probably enjoy more, but not have to feel guilty about drinking soda.

Sounds pretty awesome, this price is def the best I've seen. What an awesome idea to use the Mio flavor instead of theirs!

You may want to stay away from the paintball refill kits. The paintball CO2 refills are not food grade and could contain traces of dangerous chemicals.

It looks tempting, but I really wish they'd incorporate real cane sugar with these. I'd be all over it.

Look up "Is Sugar Toxic" on NYtimes and read the whole long article. As bad as sugar is for your body, there is no real difference between cane sugar and HFCS. You're better off staying away from both, especially when it comes to consuming it via drinking it, where the body has to absorb it real quick, vs say consuming it in a fruit where the fiber in the fruit slows down the rate of absorption and lessens the damage to your pancreas and blood sugar.

Those who have ill effects from sugar in moderation generally don't exercise nearly enough. Get up, move around, and it'll solve lots of made-up 1st world problems... but don't forget to eat your broccoli.

Pretty happy with it. I'm not really sure how much is saved overall, but I know there's space saved not storing flats of cans, storing empty cans for recycling, and I don't miss all the CRV fees.

The CO2 is $30 buying a new one, but $15 to swap for a refill. I bought a 2nd for backup so I can use one while the other is being replaced. It's somewhat true though. There's very little to the unit itself, mostly a plastic shell.

The sugar free syrups are generally icky and chemical tasting, like the first attempts by the soda companies. I bought a whole kit with extra tanks and bottles at a garage sale for $35 and use frozen juices as flavors.

I don't understand about the rebate to exchange the starter carbonator. The offer expires July31 and chances are the unit won't even be delivered by then.
