Can anyone tell me if the RAM is upgradeable and to what? This info is nowhere to be found in Sony's specs and they are notorious for not being upgrade friendly.

You can apparently upgrade this laptop to 16gb of RAM, or so Crucial.com tells me when I specified the exact model of this Sony laptop. http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=VAIO%20SVT15114CYS&Cat=RAM

Looks like a great computer for the price, Sony used to be one of the best, don't know lately, SSD included, If I needed one, I am not sure Black Friday could beat this for a higher end unit. Black Fridays Laptops I have seen tend to be on the lower end.

I concur with Teleman as the BF hardware seems to be what they want to eliminate from inventory, or simply the lowest end units that nobody wants anyway. Good deals can be had, but it depends on what specs you are after. This seems like a catch, but I'm holding out for other form factors esp. since the Venue Pro 11" is available. Smaller screen but the resolution is 1080p and matches the specs., give or take a few smaller points, for the most part with this machine and can be had with a magnetic keyboard with battery, doc., stylus, i3, i5, 128 GB SSD, 4+ GB RAM, etc. Hoping it goes on sale for BF.

Normally I would agree about the lower end stuff on BF, but the prices on the touchscreen lighter laptops has suddenly fallen this past month. It's hard to see what would stop that trend in the next 3 weeks before BF comes around.
