I don't believe there's been a release date announced yet, so that's kind of weird!

You know, there were some (mostly little things) that bothered me, but overall I loved it. Made me feel like I was a kid again, and I haven't had that much fun going to the movies in a long time. Super excited to see where they take it with the next 2 movies. What about you?

Without giving away major spoilers, I definitely liked this more than the 1-3 book (the newer movies). Character development was much better. I didn't like recycling some of the same story lines, could have been more imaginative on that front.

Overall I'll definitely watch it again.

If only they would have had more aggressive marketing/merchandising ;)

I'm waiting for the spin-off...."George Lucas: The Billionaire Awakens." It's the story of a movie tycoon getting up from his nap.

Pre-order with
Target
, get a $5 gift card and in exchange they will have your credit card data on file for an unspecified amount of time. I'm not sure if I'd trust them with my credit card data!!

I don't think that has been announced yet. If you want to be on the safe side
Amazon
UK have it priced at approximately $22.

*DANGER SPOILERS DO NOT READ FURTHER*

totally serious, don't read this.

I mean it. stop reading now. Don't read farther unless you've seen all the star wars movies.

Anyway, this post is about the first star wars movie. It was very nice and completely different.

In the first movie (1977), the rebels have important information that will help them to beat the empire, so they hide it in a cute little droid. The bad guys come and capture the person who had the robot, and an evil looking guy in a scary black mask uses some force interrogation techniques to get info. BUT the little robot narrowly escapes and ends up wandering around the desert. Some short alien scavenger grabs him, but the tiny robot ends up in the hands of a 20 year old attractive orphan who has been stuck living in the desert but dreams of the force and space travel with no idea that he actually has the force within himself.

*music*

So the little droid plays a hologram message and the orphan decides to take him away from the bad guys in the white plastic armor running around the planet trying to find him. Off the desert planet to the rebels. The orphan gets help from this dude who was in the previous movie and was all hot in that one, but now he's all old and wrinkled with gray hair. Oh no, a big monster is going to eat them!

The bad guys have this big death star that can blow up entire planets, and they shoot off the big gun to show how nasty it is. Fortunately, the rebels have a plan to send some ships and blow it up. It's like their favorite plan. Somewhere in there Obi Wan meets up with his little buddy. Hey Ani! Last time I saw you, you were all cute and little, now you are all growed up and dressed up in a scary mask! Yada yada yada, they blow up the death star and the bad guys die a horrible flaming death and the audience is all happy and everyone gets medals or something.

It was a nice old movie. You should rent it if you like sci fi. Totally different than this new one.

JJ Abrams has said there will be no director's cut. I think he's done with it and moving on.

Don't know. But, I just saw it again in the IMAX 3D, and the sound alone makes it worth the money. The Lightsaber effects in it were worth an award. I with there was an IMAX non-3D in my area. The old story bothered me too. Could they really not think of something different?
