It's clearly a notebook mouse. Why don't they say so?

Dell had their re-badged Logitech Bluetooth notebook mouse on sale for $12-$13 on 8/14 and 9/11, so I'm hoping that it'll go on sale again in a few days (I just started a new job and got a new Dell Latitude):

MisterE: i've seen the dell bluetooth mouse occasionally, even for as low as $10 once, but i've passed on it every time because it's only optical.

i have a logitech v470 and a microsoft 5000. both are bluetooth laser mice and i'm pleased with both (though more so with the logitech: tilting scroll wheel, AA batteries, and no bluetooth disconnections when idle like the microsoft).

the logitech i bought "dent box" directly from logitech.com earlier this year for $30 when ben was occasionally advertising it with a coupon.

the microsoft i bought two weeks ago from dailysteals.com for $20 and though it didn't say it was new or used, it appears to be slightly used (spotless on the top, but had slight scuffs on the bottom).

i only buy laser mice anymore because optical mice are hit and miss on non-standard surfaces, like you encounter when you are using your netbook/notebook on-the-go. inevitably the surface is either too lightly colored, too reflective, or too something for the mouse to track properly and instead it's jumping all over the screen. if i'm sitting at a desk where i can station a mouse pad, then i'll settle for an optical mouse, but otherwise i stick to a laser mouse.

#4, thanks for the reply and info. I prefer a mouse, but the Latitude has a trackpad and big toes mouse built-on. I'll use those when I'm truly mobile. I carry a smallish round mouse pad for when I'm desk-bound.

I don't own any Laser mice, and currently use an old Logitech MX700 at home and some cheap Logitech corded optical mouse with the latitude. The Dell optical BT mouse will probably be adequate, though it may be a bit too small if it's notebook mouse size.

I recently bought just as nice a replica off ebay from "gigacity" for $6.70 with s/h. Received and working with my win 7/x32 desktop, but I haven't found a x64 driver to work with my laptop yet. The mouse is pretty nice though... good looking and has pretty good construction quality. No affiliation with the seller... just a better deal.
