Absolutely right. Local resale shops all have lots of bread machines, many new in box. Once bought one for $3.50 ! Most are $5-10. "Breadtopia.com" shows the technique well. It's easy and produces excellent results. I also raise my own starter for sourdough bread. Works well and friends really love it. One change I've made over the years is to bake at a lower temp. (375) rather than the temps. usually suggested. The NYT published the original recipe and technique.
