OOS....but regardless, charger doesn't appear to charge batteries individually, and the batteries are not the low self-discharge type. Much better to put out more $$$ and spring for a good set of eneloops and a Maha or LaCross charger. Probably set you back about $70 total, but completely worth it.
^ Any Delta -V charger, which uses constant current to charge so it can detect that Delta -V drop at the end of rapid charge mode, can charge single cells even if they imply otherwise.
The trick is you need to bridge the contacts where the 2nd cell would be, completing the circuit then it still uses the same constant current it would with two cells but at lower voltage, and still detects Delta -V as it would when the first of two cells were charging reached that point.
The easy way to bridge the contacts is to cut a bolt to the same length as the cell, then use a grinder to put a point on it if the charger has a recessed positive contact.
You can also do this on dumb (non- Delta -V) chargers but then you'd cut the charging time in half.
However, while Amazon lists this as having "smart charge detection", I was not able to confirm for certain that it does use Delta -V detection although the "smart charge detection" seems to imply that, but it could just be creative marketing.
