Back in stock. Walmart has The Lord of the Rings The Motion Picture Trilogy Theatrical Editions (Blu-ray) for $12 with free in-store pickup or $2 shipping. Does not include the $10 Hobbit admission credit from a couple weeks ago, but still good for a set that's usually twice this much.
Amazon has Seven Samurai Blu-ray for $21 w/ free ship on $25+
The Seven Samurai is a huge steal at $21. My all-time favorite Japanese film.
"Unanimously hailed as one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of the motion picture, Seven Samurai has inspired countless films modeled after its basic premise. But Akira Kurosawa's classic 1954 action drama has never been surpassed in terms of sheer power of emotion, kinetic energy, and dynamic character development."
^ I question if a 1954 film would be just as enjoyable in standard DVD rather than Blu-ray.
Lord of the Rings out of stock already
Get the extended edition Goob
With most movies I would agree with your statement, but with the attention to detail that Kurosawa pays to his movies I would want his movies in bd.
