I love mine, which I bought for $120 new from Best Buy a year ago, but it has one issue: the battery gradually loses its charge. This means that when in operation it has to be plugged in to the lighter. I keep it in the center console of my car, so every few months ii loses its entire charge and "reboots" when plugged in and turned on. When this happens it takes a long time to home in on the signal. To avoid this, I have to remember to take it inside and wall-charge it every month or two. Also, no good for using only with the battery, say in the back of an NYC taxi with a freshly imported driver or for walking around.
So no good if you want to use it only on the battery, but for $45, a great plug-in GPS to keep in the car. I like that its so small also.
I got the refurb 130S about 1.5 yrs back for $69, my battery now lasts about 2 weeks. Great GPS. Getting free map updates from a nefarious site, you have to download some programs to get it all working but it works.
I guess the up-to-dateness of the map depends on when the unit was manufatured (thats a guess). On mine, which is over a year old, they are up-to-date enough; it has only once gotten confused by a recently changed interchange, and even then, it was still useful since it maintained its sense of location and intended direction. Traffic camera locations and other software updates are free.
