Could use this. Is this brand better than Seagate?

once you go 3.0 you never want to go back to 0then again, once you go SSD you don't want to go back to HDD.

Have two Toshiba portable drives, and I've never had a problem with them.

I had lots of trouble with the USB 2 versions of the Toshiba, but the USB 3 seem solid. Also, if you ever need customer service from them, be prepared for someone who doesn't care.

^ Isn't that true of most CSRs these days? I just assume there is no such thing as competent customer service for inexpensive consumer electronics, that at best you get a seamless online RMA form if the warranty needs invoked.

    Very tempting. USB3.0 is fast.

Nope, dave_c, Toshiba is the absolute worst. Western Digital, Seagate, HGST, ASUS, MSI are all reasonable when you call. Toshiba doesn't believe you when you tell them something is wrong. The others at least think you're calling because there is a problem.

^ Most of them assume it's user error. Equally most of them don't require you call at all if it really isn't user error and you need to RMA a drive.

What is there to call about anyway? Either it has all the pieces or you send it back to the seller. Either it outlives the warranty or you do an online RMA.

I have had bad experience with Toshiba customer service, but the quality of their products seems to be hit or miss.

Experience with customer service for faulty Toshiba Laptop. Toshiba is the worst. Asus is a close second.
