I bought one of there some time ago. It works and is pretty cool. The problem I had was that it came in a box with no documentation and no markings which could be traced to the manufacturer. After some digging I came upon the following:

I got two of these from "somewhere", I don't remember where. They look the same and I bet they are.
I found the same info as loubob and got them to work. Funny thing, mine have a problem. Any button push seems to happen twice. So "ON" becomes "ON"&"OFF" so the TV stays where it was. Volume works "OK" because two pushes are almost as good as one push. "UP" and "Down" channel are a pain because you jump two channels.
I found I could solve the "double" push problem by holding my hand in front of the LED and pressing the button. Then whip my hand away and back. Only one "push" gets through.
I must admit that I think I paid 1/2 the price quoted here...where ever I got it from.
cool. can I use this to change the station in a bar if I don't like their choice?
^ If it can figure out (has) the code their TV uses. It should be noted that you may only get to use it once or twice before you are gang rushed.

#5 I too got mine for $1.00 at 1saleaday.com. Can't say that I have had the double burst issue though.
