      I might wait one more iteration. Hoping the internal GPU from Intel gets much faster as new chips come out (6-8 months). I still own a PowerBook G4 - man is it getting old and slow.

      With Quad Core - these laptops can finally replace desktops.

      FWIW, "Thunderbolt" is not proprietary. It's an open standard developed by Intel and available for implementation by anyone.
