Lawn mowers, particularly the typical air cooled engine type are better off with 30wt oil instead of a multi-weight with viscosity modifiers. Some of the more recent ones have spec'd use of a lighter weight oil to slightly reduce drag and increase their CARB compliance odds but you're still better off ignoring that and using 30wt... sort of like you're still better off running 40:1 ratio gas to oil mix in 2 cycles instead of 50:1 if you care about the engine more than the environment (your call, I believe in the right to choose, not the hippie liberal crap we constantly get bombarded with these days).

It took awhile for the rebate to be approved and once approved it will be another 8 to 10 weeks for the rebate to show up. Slow processing on this but nothing to send in, it is all done online. This will be great in my old car. I would rather run synthetic oil in my small air cooled engines an this oil. Small engines do not have as good cooling systems as water cooled engines. The oil can run hotter and the engines are under a heavier load for the size of the engine than your car is. Most small engines do not have a pressurize oiling system, no oil cooler, and no oil filter as compared to your car. Recycled oil has been around for decades. It is just the past 30 years that it has not been seen much. During and after WWII, recycled oil was in heavy use but as time goes by people stop being conservative and waste stuff like oil. There is nothing wrong with saving money by reusing things.

^ OK but for the flight home you're going to have to pour it into condoms and swallow them because TSA won't let you have that many ounces of anything on a plane.
