    I used to think the same thing but not any more with devices that use a mUSB socket to charge. There are slight tolerance issues with many generic cable plugs and the extra force needed to plug them into a device can break the mUSB socket off its circuit board eventually.

    Ask me why I had to buy a battery charger for my camera last week and now have to take the flash card out to get pics off or buy a wireless data capable card with lower capacity and higher cost. $1 cable ended up costing more in the long run.
