Just a heads up - instructions state you need to install and register within the promotion time frame for it to be free.

Good software, I've used it and it works very well. In my experience this is a promotional license that expires in a few months. Plenty of time to rip all those Disney DVDs to your kid's iPad.

    Warning:
This company (Digiatry) is apparently known for this kind of trickery, and also silently installs spyware during program installation, so they can pull this kind of thing. I will uninstall, and recommend avoiding Digiarty and its products.

Spyware and malware have gotten a bad rap, if you ask me.

^^ Really? Just uninstall the crapware? You're telling me that you are going to enter social security numbers , credit cards, passwords and other private info into a computer that once had a virus that you or a local shop 'uninstalled'?

Even the best antivirus can identify less than 60% of viruses out there.

I install Windows, device drivers, games and all my necessary programs from reliable sources ONE TIME, then take a disk image of it. I store my documents ( non executable files ) on D:\ . If I find a program that I've missed I could always do an incremental backup.
Whenever I suspect something I simply boot from the restore cd and restore C:\ from that image, and my pc is back in action in under 15 minutes. I dare you to find a safer or faster method than that.

For Questionable software ( some I even know have Trojans )- I install within a Vmware virtual machine and use them from there. I don't use that VM for anything else.

    1) The license is for 1 year.

    2) If you let it update itself, it may invalidate the license according to their site so disable updates in the program options/settings.

    3) They ask for your email address but you don't have to give them a real one, the download page gives you the installation key so you don't need to receive an email from them.

    4) There is no malware, spyware, or virus in this. No browser add-ons, no services, no new startup boot files, no rootkits, nothing but the program itself. It is clean.

Whatever popups eclipse69 is referring to, came from somewhere else.

    DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS PROGRAM!
Even though I canceled the installation I still got unwanted programs. Will do an Acronis restore now

Hope those pop up ads didn't start appearing as fast or as numerous as they did when one visited p0rn sites 15 years ago. Had a difficult time trying to keep up with closing those pop ups.
