I would wait until they drop the price

sony says they are going to have enough supply

and will be $100 less than sony,so Microsoft will have to drop the price

Eh, I'll wait for a Xbone sans kinect for $400. Then I'll think about it after I see a few ps4 vs Xbone graphics comparison videos.

They have made the game consoles into computer cases with outdated hardware. It's really sad. That 8-core cpu is an AMD which, last time I checked, ran slower than the core i7 quad cores.

Buy a good computer and say goodbye to consoles. I love my PS3 but my computer has better graphics and the ability to be upgraded.

Consoles are nice and compact though and you know ever game is supposed to work perfect on them (although, well lets not go there) but I dont need a "media center" that keeps track of everything i do to feed me ads.

I have a day one Xbox One on pre-order and I am very happy with that. $500 is a fine deal especially since you get the new Kinect for that price. Sure, I was a PC gamer for years and vowed I would not ever switch. Well, I did and never looked back. I have owned the original Xbox, Xbox 360 (only one I own now), the PS2 and PS3 and the Wii. Overall, the Xbox 360 environment provided and still provides the best experience. So, I'm sticking with Xbox.

XBOX One may do well but I'm jumping ship to the PS4. Microsoft tries to force their consumers to play it their way whether you like it or not. Always on kinect NSA with restriction on lending/reselling games is mainly what drove me away from Microsoft.

So far MS keeps saying all Xb1's will have Kinect2 so I wouldn't bother waiting for one. As far as performance goes Xb1 is far closer to PS4 than some of the more obvious specs (ie. bandwidth, GPU CU's, etc.) would suggest. So buy whichever one you think you'll be happiest with because IRL you won't be able to tell the difference between a PS4/Xb1 multi plat. game.

You can't compare platforms this way. PC's never have their hardware utilized the way a console's is so the specs alone don't really tell you the whole story about the effective performance of either platform.

Also the original Xbox had the same sort of "outdated PC hardware in a living room form factor" and did OK vs the PS2 juggernaut.

The fact that they're not backwards compatible or even porting games like NHL 14 means M$ can suck it! PS4 too!

Annual rehashes of CoD = z

No GTA5. And BF4 is coming out on 360/PS3 and Xbone/PS4 later.

The fact is you will spend more on a pc, but it will be capable of better graphics. My suggestion is if you don't care about graphics and want simplicity and reliability get either console. I wish they made these consoles scaleable so graphics processing could be increased by popping another card into place. Maybe some people would be willing to pay $800 for a console with more floating point power.

    look at it this way...
Xbox 360 and PS3 have incredible libraries and fantastic graphics
These excellent consoles will have their prices drop for both the hardware and software

It will take a large batch of incredible ONE and PS4 games and/or a major price drop to turn my head.
Come to think of it, I know a few hardcore gamers with PS3 and 360's... I will offer them $100 towards their new console if they sell me their old console and their entire library
