Online glasses get mixed reviews, some good, but most recommending against for very strong or odd prescriptions. I was surprised at what I considered a pretty decent deal at a local America's Best (twopair.com), a national chain which advertises but rarely delivers two pair plus exam for $69. Notwithstanding the $69 claim, my wife and I each got an eye exam, one with extra tests, and two pair of glasses each, all with rather appealing and well-constructed frames with thin polycarbonate lenses with all coatings, one a lined bifocal with very strong correction and one a lineless trifocal, for $440 for all exams and four glasses. The company gains its share of vocal detractors from those who end up with bills over $69, but we feel that our purchase was a very fair deal in the DC area. We also found the service professional and prompt, and the glasses arrived well within the promised ten days. I submit this firm as an alternative for those with strong or odd prescriptions and no need for exotics such as memory-metal frames.
