Yahoo! Domains is offering domain registration for a low price of $2 for your first year. Includes customer support, DNS management, Domain forwarding, Email forwarding, Bonus starter web page.
Yahoo has always done well with my website forwarding (not sure about hosting). They sure beat network solutions or any of those overpriced domain registers. $2 sounds like a deal.. if I didn't already have one!
Good deal. Also the Yahoo hosting (that ALSO comes with Merchant Solutions, but also separately) is alright. They don't have htaccess and they don't have simple things that other hosting companies have, such as turning on and off directory listing, seriously.
But if you want the cart app, they use RTML and their own Yahoo store tags that, although sometimes kinda backward, are VERY fast to get your business up online.
I just bought a new domain with Namecheap. Can I transfer it to Yahoo with this deal and will they add another 1-year to my exisiting 1-year registration?
good domain registration but terrible customer service. buyer beware .. also they auto charge credit cards at renewal time. it was a bit unexpected for me and could have actually taken me under at the bank cuz im just that broke. lol
I got their domain a year ago at the $2.99 price and it's been working great. I just use the domain forwarding option with a static IP so I don't need to use a DNS.
Thing is back then they let you sign up for up to 5 years at a time, so I got 5 years of my domain name for only $15. I wish they would offer that again. Now it would cost me almost thriple the price for that amount of time.
I would never use Yahoo! domains even if it were free. They screwed up my DNS one time and my site just gave the generic "Yahoo! Hosted site Under Construction", message for several months. Endless calls to customer service got me nowhere. Sign up for their $40 per month overpriced hosting plan and customr service will be real nice to you. BTW, don't even think about buying and then transferring, they aren't the real registrar. It is some group from Australia that makes it impossible to transfer.
