Been using this card as my primary card for several years. The cash back rewards aren't as good as before they changed all the banking and cc regulation but I still have been very happy with it.
Beware of the rewards points, Amex offers a decent amount of points back but when you go to redeem those points the selection is laughable. I too have a Chase Freedom card and wish I used it more often. I'm still in the habit of using my Amex. Knocking $400 off a TV purchase with four Chase bought Best Buy gift cards was nice.
I got this card for 3 yrs....have been using it all the time, but, they often calculated cashback part incorrectly.i am not sure how many of you who receive cashback regularly check.....if you spent $200 on a 1% cashback you are supposed to get 200 pts (equivalent to $2 in general) but do you really check EVERY transaction at the end of EACH month?
I am also a person who carries a 0 balance and use my cards for everything. In cash back every year I get around $500. Discover was my primary, but now I am using others. I even got a christmas card from Discover this past year.
some people cancel their original freedom cards and then shortly after will reapply for the $300 cash back freedom card. one catch is that your interest rate goes up.
Great if you carry a $0 balance. Otherwise the rewards cards have higher APR's than regular cards.
I did this when it was $300 cash back. I got my $300 with no problems.
Free money = awesome
This card also has 5% cash back at Amazon and gas stations through the end of March.
Been getting 5% back on gas and Amazon since January first...great deal.
Carrying a balance on a credit card = slavery.
This is a good deal and I just applied (I already have a sapphire card).
great deal but i already have a freedom card.

i never carry a balance, so apr is meaningless to me. no need to owe the banks any more money than you need to.

What kind of interest rates have you guys been getting?
Can somebody help me understand, please?
If I've had a Chase Freedom card in the past
but don't have one now, can I sign up and get the $200?
Thanks
No. You'd first have to cancel your existing card, wait for enough time to pass (3 month I'm guessing) then reapply...

You don't have to wait 3 months, but as xyz has admitted, he was guessing.
