You better hope this thing weighs like 4,000 pounds otherwise someone will just haul it off in the back of a van.

With $7 shipping it's probably plastic. In actuality it is a 75 pound item that will cost at least $100 to ship. Nice job to the aconbay poster of this.

the problem i have with these is the override keys... These safes will keep out a nosy cleaning lady - but the the key slots are easily pickable with common household items.

The shipping IS $7 (I'm in CA). I decided not to buy one because it's electronic.

I bought this safe a few weeks ago. It is solid metal, and 75 lbs. It's quite heavy, and it also comes with bolts to anchor it to either the floor, or the wall behind it. Also, the key slot is hidden. It is not clear from looking at the safe that there is a key override. You have to remove a panel to see it. I'm quite pleased with this safe for the price. Of course, you're always better off if you can find a place to put the safe where it's not visible. In my case, the safe is more for keeping firearms away from children than for keeping valuables away from robbers.

You can drill and bolt down just about any budget (manageable plate wall thickness) safe, and should.
