    Put your money in a smaller bank or better yet a credit union.

    coastal federal credit union (costal24.com) has 4.05% APR up to 50k on their green checking account. you gotta make like 12 ddebit transactions a month, but still, 4.05% is double of the highest intrest rate that i've seen so far.

    Man, I remember when there rate used to be close to 4.5%. The good ole days. I get a letter from them every couple months announcing a drop in the rate.

    I have found the online savings accounts overall a big pain in the butt to deal with. Yes, they reimburse ATM fees but it is a hugh hassle if you wanna cancel the account. You have to send a letter in writing, submit a DNA sample, get a notary, etc....

    @RKLE

    Your retarded. What part of FDIC insured do you not understand? Oh btw, last time I checked there were a few hundred banks receiving bailout money. Time to back to Econ101.

    Check out RedNeckBank.com they offer 5.25% checking but require 10 ATM transactions. Go for their 3.10% MMA if you don't want to deal with that.

    Another one to check out is SmartyPig.com - 3.05%

    Happy Savings =)

    #6 you're a moron, ACH is free! Any bank will charge for wire transfers, that's why you don't use them for that, only for
    S-A-V-I-N-G-S!
