Netflix continues to offer a one month free trial of their video streaming service. Trial can be canceled at any time. Afterwards, it's $8 for streaming video. Other current promotions include:

How long do we see Netflix staying in business? They are slowly starting to show blockbuster movies a little faster than I have seen for instant viewing. Their selection still is not worth the $8 per month, unless you like their tv show selection.

I like the Netflix streaming service. There are a ton of things to watch. Their DVD delivery service has a way better selection and quicker shipping than Blockbuster. I dropped the DVD service like many people did after the price increase. That said: Netflix shot themselves in the foot and may not recover. I then will try out Amazon Prime for streaming movies. Netflix 101 needs to be taught in business school as what to do right and then what to do wrong.

love Netflix and Reed Hastings. How can the board leave this degenerate at the helm after he single hand-idly destroyed the company. I dumped my stock months ago thank god.

When USPS stop deliveries on a second day each week (maybe Tuesdays) it's going to be far more difficult for many odf us to achieve a viable turnaround. With Blockbuster I doubt in this part of Florida I would receive more than one DVD a week on the minimum subscription rate. So far I think that the picture/sound quality of Amazons streaming is better than Netflix even after setting video quality to 'best' in settings. Have to agree with BenKat's comments about Netflix and their business practices.

For those wondering how Reedy boy is still the CEO. Google the subject and you will find that he has built in job security. To oust him it requires a 75% majority instead of 51%. He and his cronies own enough that no one will ever be able to muster the votes to oust him. Its actually pretty funny. He dumped a ton of his shares before he announced the price increase that tanked the company....

Is there a service that allows me to watch the most up to date tv shows and films for free?

Yes, if by "service" you mean some eastern european website.

Btw, Amazon Prime stinks. Terrible selection-- you have to pay for all of the good movies/shows.
