Note that the site does not support IE8, listed browser support includes Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. That's kind of funny, they're teaching scripting for web design and want to just exclude one of the 3 most used browsers on the planet.

I suspect the first exercise (email) is the one they link after the email signup, the following link. The "!" breaks the url, copy/paste into browser (another poor design decision on their part, ignoring support for phpBB linking too):
