Though I wdn't get Muscle Milk (the pic) with it given the levels of heavy metals in it:
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine-archive/2010/july/food/protein-drinks/overview/index.htm
... now that's not eating healthy.
Misleading article #1, protein supplements are great.
Unless you like eating a shedload of nasty low-fat type fish, you can get your daily protein needs with much less fat in your diet, OR you can indulge in fat foods every now and then and balance it out.
Heavy metals? If it's in the soil, yes, same as eating vegetables but did they mention this or warn that you shouldn't eat vegetables? Or fish? I guess they would recommend nothing but cheeseburgers with no pickle... except if the land used to grow the soy/whey/etc were used for cattle instead, the meat has heavy metals in it too.
I'm very picky about my protein powders too and I'm going to stay away from Cytosport after I finish my last bit I have left. However, keep in mind that 90% of fish (especially things like shrimp) have more heavy metals in them than an entire jug of protein powder. Veggies that have toxified soil are also the same. I guess it really is time to buy organic only.
Also, a lot of the testing was done on RTD's. (ready to drink) Most of the powder jug versions have less metals in them.
