Newegg has a 100 pack RiDATA 16x 4.7GB DVD+R Media for $17 with free shipping. Ideal for general purpose recording, a single RiDATA DVD+R has ample capacity of digital photos, up to six hours of video and large mission critical data files.
RiDATA used to make the DVDs for Office Depot (OD has stopped selling OD branded disks) and I've used hundreds of them.
If these are the same quality as they provided for OD, they performed better for me on Plextor and Samsung drives than Taiyo Yuden.
By "better," I mean the burns tested better when I ran a burn quality test afterwards with DVDInfoPro.
I almost never had failures and when I did, most of the time I attributed it to using the computer too much while burning.
RiDATA also made OD's +RW disks and these were clearly superior to RiDATA's own branded disks, especially in the area of multiple burns. I attributed that to OD's quality demands (but that's a guess) as OD offered a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
I was disappointed to see that OD no longer has OD branded DVDs because I was very happy with them.
I would really like some feedback on these from someone who has used a significant amount of them to see if their quality is consistent with the OD ones.
I usually associate the word "ample" with breasts....
