DVD+R are $27.99 w/free shipping. No deal on those unfortunately.

You can made DVD+R as DVD-ROM during burning and can be played on any machines.

It all depends on your burner and what you play it back on.
I have two standalone DVD players. One will play back movie DVDs made with DVD+R and the other will not. Buy these and if they don't play on your DVD player, you can still use them for data backup. This is the only brand I use, the rest create too many coaster. I usually get 1 coaster out of 100 with these.

You can change the BookType from DVD+R to DVD-ROM if your burner supports it. LiteOn supply the software to do it.
