really depends on what you are using it for, #1. If it's just for playing games on Live or downloading some game content, it's plenty. If you want to download HD movies and rip all of your music to it, you may want to look at a larger hard drive.

Maybe I missed it, but I don't see any mention of a warranty. It is Buy.com so I'm not too surprised. Edit: It is there now - 90 days.

Laptop hard drives work in these. Just grab this, a 500gb, and watch one YouTube tutorial and you're set.

#5 from what i have read the xbox will only see up to 120gb, its not like the PS3. Also you have to have a certain WD drive if i remember correctly. I may be wrong, if so post a link to the Youtube video you spoke of...

10 times better than a PS3.

I dont recall anyone needing as much space as possible on a pc.. Just more data to loose, kept in one spot. And backing it up is usually not possible with really large drives.
I have a 20gb drive in my ps2 and it keeps plenty of games. Unless you like switching games like you change your socks..

Anyone know of any problems people have had with these refurb units? I have my own 360 but am recommending this to a buddy.

I bought a refurb from Buy.com and it died about 3 weeks after the warranty expired with the 3 rings of death, aka general hardware failure. I opened a ticket with Microsoft support and got the hardware replaced in about a weeks time. Since then, it has been solid.

How much will MS charge to fix if it is past the warranty date?

#9, its worse than a Roku box because a Roku box is cheaper, you don't need to pay for XBox live gold, and I've never heard of a Roku box with RROD.

why would you buy a refurb of an old version which is very prone to dying?

#16, while the roku player is nice and a good option if you do not want to pay an extra $100 for wireless networking for an xbox (although you can use an old laptop for a bridged connection). the xbox with $30 for 13 months of xbox gold live is not overpriced IMO. unlimited streaming from netflix for $8 a month is GREAT if you havent experienced it.

eh...just wait for the 15-20 discount for Xbox on Dell. I love my Jasper and HDMI is wonderful compared to component. Xbox hard drives are available in abundance on Ebay for far less than retail..or hack one together yourself.
