This seems like a pretty decent deal. Any thoughts skeptics?

LG plasma is crap compared to Panasonic and Samsung. PQ is inferior and reliability is terrible compared to Panny and Sammy.

price is reasonable, but its only 720P, and don't buy plasma if you want to play video games frequently.

good price. personally i'd spend the extra $50-100 and get a solid panasonic 42" plasma

Yup, wait for the Panasonic for about this same price. I paid $695 for 42" Panasonic plasma from 6ave-shipped.

#3, I play video game on my plasma TV all the time. Is there a reason why not to?

#6 - if the game you are playing has a plasma gun it won't fire properly because of the plasma used in the TV

plasma still has burn in, no matter what people say about how it improved. For tv, and movies, maybe its ok, since you don't get a static picture (as long as its full screen). But for pc, its a no go.

Don't people object to the black bar running across the screen? Or do you just get used to it?

it's actually a scrolling advertisement ticker #10 it is the new rage, Verizon just announced that the new iPhone they will be selling in June will have "micro" ads interjected into phone calls and text messages to help defer costs.
