If this is the v.1 (likely for refurbs), you can put Rockbox on it.

I got this for $31 to my door, all I can say is awesome... It was refurb but looked brand new, v1 and rockboxed!

I found a great speaker dock system for this for $40, its basic but it works great! check it out here

    Two suggestions for accessories:
    (1) Sennheiser CX400 Black is $30 at Amazon.com.

    (2) Silicon skin is $4.50 shipped via USPS 1st Class at Next Web Sales. The quality of the silicon skin is very good. Do not buy the black skin, it is like a dust magnet.

Hey dzdz, how well did the speaker system work with rockbox?

paid $40 for 6gb e270 refurb arrived like new + new headphones. rockboxed and used mostly for voice recording. easy intuitive navigation, even with rockbox, many themes available for download. player is bulky, slippery, attracts scratches. needs silicone skin and screen protector. good fm radio.

it would be a deal if it wasn't a refurb

I've bought a refurb Sansa e250 and e260 and both were fine. However, the one refurb c200 series I bought had a bad headphone jack.

The silicone skins are a good yet cheap investment. Check Amazon and you'll find a ton of em.
