700:1 contrast is kind of low. Nice part of the deal is the screen. If you don't need the screen, not a good deal.

The screen sux..bacons 4:3 ratio.
They are clearing them out.

Sonystyle shows a pic that looks like widescreen with a lot of black space at the bottom of what would normally be a square screen. In the end, it's just a screen. So I agree, it sux.

Actually 700:1 is pretty good. Most DLP projectors give the "Full on Full Off" ratio which is only relevant if you look at bright white next to jet black. If you actually watch a color movie, the effective contrast is really about 1/4th the claimed ratio since each color is only displayed a quarter of the time. Most "2000:1" DLP projectors give about 400:1 in real color.

Kindof a marketing gimmick for people who don't read the fine print.

pass on this single-chip DLP with color wheel (rainbow artifacts like #5 says)

Bunch of retards on here. Does anyone read anymore? The projector is NOT DLP, its LCD. The projector is 16:10 and the screen is 16:9. Its a nice projector for a decent cost (They are throwing in the screen for free) Its not a super deal but I recommended it to a friend who is in the market.

Go with the Sharp DT-510. It is an amazing projector and you can get it <$600 at CompUSA or TigerDirect. The Iris makes it excellent for daytime or nighttime viewing, and the picture quality is always impressive. Also, the color wheel is a higher caliber so there are no rainbows.
