If you're going to be doing gaming, definitely go for the 3870.
Or, go for the 4830. It's been on sale for $65 recently.

A 3870 is 10% +/-4% and not everybody games or has a 450W PSU with a 12V rail to support it.

If gaming is the chief consideration I would not even bring this into the dialogue... you get a 4830, but only one is a single slot and that's $100.
