#1 and #2 have no clue. This is absolutely a good deal for a very solid, basic. but surprisingly versatile motherboard. Mate it with the Intel e5200 (which, by the way, is currently a combo deal at newegg with this Gigabyte motherboard, both are free shipping, $10 off with combo = $112.98 delivered to your door) and you have an excellent foundation for an inexpensive but good quality and zippy computer. I just bought my second of these combos and put together my soon-to-be HTPC last night.
Look at the newegg reviews for this board and you'll see. Do you see any other board in that price range (or any board at all for that matter) getting 80% 5 stars? That's unheard of.
The only gripe I have about it is that the HDD LED is for IDE only, no SATA. Other than that, the price/performance ratio of this board and the e5200 with it is through the roof.

Yeah, this seems like a pretty good mobo for the price. Not sure if it's a "bargain" as I don't know what the "normal" price is, but at this price, it looks like a good deal.
The killer for me is that it only has 2 memory slots for a total of 4GB max. I've got a hankerin' to build a server at home and with RAM so cheap, I'd like to get 8GB as I'd be running a bunch of virtual machines.

Also if you're into mATX this one is even smaller than typical mATX, It's seems very tight, but supprisingly everything fit very well. Unfortunately can't overclock e8500 on it with stable results
It overclocked e4300 to 3Ghz without problems though.

You have a point, Ghost Rider. But your initial quote was this was not a bargain. It is a bargain. This board is worth more than what you are paying for it. It's a virtually no-hassle board. At this price range, where boards of questionable quality and quirky install hassles are expected, this board really stands out. Together with the e5200, this board will do everything that 9 out of 10 people would want or need a computer to do for the next 5 years, and do it well. And it's amazingly inexpensive.
Also, I know for a fact that this was higher than $52.99 at Amazon earlier in the week, because I price compared before buying it from newegg. It was in the $57-$60 range. Now, in your defense, Amazon will substitute from other vendors at the vendor's price when it goes out of stock, and that may have been the case earlier in the week. But the fact remains that the price on Amazon's site isn't always $52.99.
I also see from Ben's history that you made similar comments about Amazon the last time this deal from newegg was posted. You also mentioned taxes. Where I am, the situation is entirely reversed. I don't pay sales tax for newegg but I do for Amazon. Thus, to me, this is a better deal than Amazon. Plus, the e5200 combo (why aren't you all over that deal, Ben?) and newegg's customer service and fas... [Truncated]

Fantastic motherboard, even at full price.
I haven't found any other 775 motherboards at this price point that come anywhere close for overclocking and stability.
Pop in an e5200 or e7400 from MicroCenter, 4GB of overclockable low latency RAM (Crucial Ballistix or Patriot Viper when on sale), and you've got a rocket for cheap.
$53 mb + $70 e5200 or $100 e7400 + $20 RAM = $143 or $173

#3, #2 here. Have plenty of "clues" and stand by the original statement. I bought a DFI Infinity with 4 memory slits, Gb enet, and plenty of everything else, about 1 year ago, for approx $75 (before tax).
Overclocks great too. So how, exactly, does a two memory slot board, w/o Gb, and having fewer slots and ports by a lot become a "bargain"? I didn't say it doesn't work.
The Pentium II in my dustbin will also do everything at least 8/10 people need. But that doesn't make it a Bargain even at 1/8 its original price. Newspeak?

So....you paid $20 more for more features in a full size ATX board, and this shows that this Gigabyte board is not a bargain? Are you whipping out the jedi mind tricks, or is that nonsensical?
By the way, this Gigabyte board does have gigabit ethernet. And I think I've said all that needs to be said here. Good board. Good price. Goodnightnow.

Most of the people knows it is a basic good board at a reasonable price. I fully agree with you. howevr if you call a daily price a bargains- Sorry you are not a good bargain hunter....
