Mini DV is a dying format. Go with a Harddrive or better yet, a Flash memory camcorder.

Sure, if you don't mind artifacts and crappy compression. MiniDV is still best compromise for quality and cost.

I do not recommend anyone buy from woot. I purchased a digital picture frame last week, it was DOA and woot told me to deal with the maker. I did not buy it from Westinghouse I purchased it from woot. They are the middle men, that is what they get paid for. I returned it to woot but I had to pay the shipping. Great, I paid shipping for an item that never worked. Don't buy from woot, they do not stand behind their merchandise.
