This is a real crap retailer, it is of the "Brooklyn stores". Any store that calls to verify and then tried to sell you stuff is crap, and sometimes they will not ship if you do not buy more crap.

#1 is 100% right.

It's Abe's of Maine -- why would you want to put yourself through the hassle??? Try a great e-tailer like Vann's and enjoy your transaction.

First, check out dpreview.com to see if this camera is for you.
Second, avoid Abe's if you're not nearby. They upsell like crazy, change your order content, etc. If you live near NYC, then Abe's behaves (probably because you are local and small claims court is available). If you live further away, you get hosed. I have friends in NYC who swear by Abe's, and I have friends & family in the midwest, south & west who have all been hosed by Abe's (horrid customer service, unauthorized addons, upselling, delayed shipments, pressure warranties from Abes, etc.). I only order from B&H (bhphotovideo.com), and if you are ever in Manhattan, you MUST go see the B&H store. Amazing. Ben's constant relationship with these losers, and the fact that no matter how much we shit on them he continues to support them. Leads me to believe that a many of the other people he deals with are along the same channels.

Stop dealing with these losers Ben its just not worth it for the longevity of your business.

K2000 does not have movie mode.

FWIW, I bought the K200 last year from Abe's of Maine and everything arrived just fine. They tried to sell me some additional goodies, but I politely turned them down. Perhaps Boston is close enough to NYC that they behaved themselves.

Not sure about camera, but i bought 3 Sandisk SDHCs card from Abe's last December when they had those for $10 after rebate. Everything was fine and didn't get any call from them.

I don't plan to ever buy from this company.
