Can you install a OS on this thing or is it more like an external hard drive with multimedia outputs?

Bunch of statements of how it can record, but I don't seem to find an input. Where is it recording from?

On the back there is a tiny port (headphone looking port) that says AV in. I'm guessing it comes with an adapter to that port to hook up composite cables for an input. Not as good as a co-ax input with an internal tuner.

I'd go with Popcorn Hour. I have one and I'm very happy with it. It would be nice to have a coax input with tuner to record shows, but neither this nor popcorn hour have that feature.
