    It is true:

    LED != LCD

    right?

    has to be LED back lighting.. that's no OLED display for sure.. LED back lighting is nice and tends to be a little more crisp and bright than ccfl back lights..

    Of course it's LED backlit and not OLED.

    so are these supposed to be superior to the Ultrasharps?

    #4: nope -- anything at this price is TN. ultrasharps are still king.

    Panel Type:
    TN - Twisted Nematic
    Response Time:
    5 ms (typical)
    Max Viewing Angle (vertical/horizontal)
    160° (vertical), 170° (horizontal)

    Also, this is a 16x9 monitor, not 16x10. Good for watching movies, not so good for doing anything else. I'd spend the extra for the 16x10 ultrasharp or a Samsung.

    Avoid 22'' Ultrasharp monitors, they are TN.
    And only samsung 245+ has PVA panal. Others are also TN.

    Stick with IPS or TN+film. Not too many have the TN+film though.
