I have this unit (refurb) and have no gripes. SQ is good, and despite the many bugs (g, repeating song titles, crashes, OLD firmware, etc.), have no major complaints. But if you're thinking about buying, go spend 20 minutes reading the latest messages at the Sansa View forum. You don't want to spend those 20 minutes *after* becoming an owner.

These are generally regarded as the worst of the Sansa players. They also aren't Rockboxable like the C and E series and aren't likely to ever be. The last post in the forum for these at Rockbox was February, I think everyone has given up on these.

Uh, just 'cuz they're not rockboxable doesn't make 'em worst, the older ones had worse controls, worse video playback, worse sound quality, and a smaller screen. The 8GB for $48 delivered isn't a bad deal if that's the price range you're looking for.
