free lossless audio codec. Take a wav file and compress it without losing any audio quality.

This device lets you download bittorrent files as well, but I believe it needs a SATA harddrive for this and other functionality to work.

no RCA for analog audio? why?

This seems to be a variation of the PopCorn Hour or the Elektron EHP-606. I have the Electron I am pretty happy with it. I would rather have the USB ports on the side as well as the power switch.
I am not sure about the use of having an optical port since I only use the HDMI.

I have popcorn hour and I'm not at all happy with it. It's has worst navigation.

I'd love to see the price come down on media players like these. For what other devices do (Blueray, audio receivers, etc.), $200 with no built-in hard drive is just a bit steep for me. The WD is nice for $100, but no networking...

Also, I've stared at the back of this thing at Newegg, and can't find the composite or analog (RCA) audio ports. I guess they're hiding under a cover on the front? I realize--with a decent HDTV and receiver--you'd never use them...maybe they're migrating to a location specifically for rare use (like DV inputs)?

#10 (+#7) I looked at this...
there is a single port on the back of the unit (labeled "Video L R) that the included breakout cable plugs into. There is a pic of the cable on the last one of Newegg's photos...
The cable is a single mini-din on one end, and analog yellow-red-white on the other end.

The only thing keeping me from getting this (other than the price) is that it appears to not allow any inputs other than a PC. If I could plug a DVD player and share that it would be cool.
