I just got the retail version for $162 over Memorial Day Sale. Really nice drive. Not to mention, the retail version comes with a BD-RE (re-writable)disc. The OEM, your lucky if you get the software disc. Although some claim they get everything that the retail gets, minus the box. Bit of a crap shoot.

<$100 I would bite even though the media is still too expensive to use. ROM would probably do it for me..

Nice to see prices coming down, I bought the BD ROM/HDVD ROM version for about the same price a while ago. I'll be in around $100,,,,

I got my first DVD burner 2x burn speed for 300 bucks in the fall of 2001. It was a great burner the issue was the media sucked back then ... only 10% of the disks I have from that time still work and they were 1.5 - 3 bucks a pop. Does anyone know how good bulk bluray media is?

This isn't a bad deal, I just picked one up for my tower, it'll come in handy when someone finally figures out how to Burn PS3 games...
