Disclaimer: By Touchscreen HP does not mean your finger can be used as an input device, rather it is a clarification that the screen is not virtual reality and you may in fact actually touch it.

I have one. Not bad... As long as you take out all the pre-installed programs from HP, it's pretty good.

Cheaper AMD CPUs are fine to get the price down, most people simply aren't using their laptop for highly processing intensive work, and certainly not those paying only 650.

They should've splurged and put a swivel screen on, called it a tablet and charged $20 more. Then again, Win7 is coming out in October, right? With no free upgrade to Win7, it might be as well to just put off buying a touchscreen for about 5 months if you really think you'll use the feature.

#7, Ben posted the wrong picture, the tx2z is a convertible notebook with a SWIVEL SCREEN. I have this for 8 months and it is packed with features. The express slot hides a little remote control, there is a digital pen that slides into the side, it has a physical touchscreen with multitouch (two finger zoom and rotate), fingerprint scanner, touchsmart software, button to rotate screen to page view like an ebook reader.

Down side is it is not the fastest. Some people put XP, but with a few minor BIOS and registry settings it will run well on vista. Also stick to the most efficient virus scanners like NOD32 or Avast and stay away from Norton/McAfee because they do slow this machine down. Most common complaints are heat and noise, which both can be lowered by adjustments in the bios (disable modem, change auto fan). After all this it is fast enough for me to use it as a desktop replacement with a dock and dual monitors.

S look up one of the youtube video reviews to get a good idea of the physical touchscreen and digital tablet features.
