If it wasn't a trial it might be worth it. They are probably trying to get people hooked on it before Google's Wave hits..

Google wave is intended to make you trust everything to Google so they can monitor you more for better advertisement delivery.
Remember, Google is not doing anything out of the goodness of their hearts. They deserve some credit for investing in great search tech, in driving the streets so we can see pictures of things we'd have to get up off our fat asses to see normally, and being one of the few companies that makes Microsoft really, really nervous.
Now tell me why we have a googlesyndication script trying to run on this webpage. I'm not trying to use any of their services at the moment, and therefore do not authorize them to run a script on my system.
We are letting Google do what we let MS do, stifle progress by deprofitizing competition towards consumer demand.
The biggest concern of many people is they just want to keep using GMail, not have Google lose their mail or make them switch to this beta all-in-one experiment in fail.

#2, this is the best piece of crap out there, if you're not smart enough to find one of the thousands of open source solutions that not only do better but are 100% compatible.
google searches are your friend.
