For $500 you can get them specs on a Window lappie. Must be OS-X is worth another $500?

Can you buy a regular Windows laptop and dual boot it?

It only comes with iLife not iWork or Finalcut Express.

Also, isn't not to dealing with M$ Windows worth $500?

Actually #3, controlling your own destiny is worth not dealing with the Nazi turds at Apple. Buy a PC or go Linux.

It looks good. And that is worth $500 for many people.

There is a little bit more to it than that.

For those who need a macbook with a firewire port, this is it. The aluminum macbooks don't have a firewire port, unless you go for the (starting at) $1999 macbook pro model.

If anyone cares to show me a similarly SIZED laptop (weight, dimensions, screen, etc) with comparable specs for $500, I'll be waiting.

#2, you will encounter a lot of difficulties installing OSX on a "regular Windows laptop" if that's what you were asking. Gizmodo or Engadget just posted a story on how this machine was benchmarked against the unibody Macbooks and was actually faster. That said, the build quality on these leaves much to be desired. I think Apple just recently owned up to the cracking in the case near the magnetic clasps in the front being a design flaw. Overall, I agree with #10. This thing comes loaded with all kinds of extra shit that will ratchet up the price of your average PC laptop. Also, Apple does a fantastic job of standing by their products. So long as you have Apple Care, you're pretty much set.

#12, the specs are "slightly" updated. 2.13Ghz instead of 2.0Ghz and 160GB instead of 120GB Hard Drive.

Well, honestly, if I have some money, I will buy one. I don't have any issue with Apple and it's good to experience both. Also, competition leads to innovation and prosperity. I hope those loyal GM and Chrysler dealers turn to be Huyndai's and Kia's after being dismissed. GM and Chrysler will learn their lesson on "How to Abandon One's Subordinates to Keep Someone's Ass" one last time after graduating the course "How to Make Americans Drivers Hate GM and Chrysler Cars." Hey Apple you'd better lower the price... It's the China's era.

Hey #19.... Why don't you do us all a favor and pack your bags up and move back to china.
