    SLR's are so expensive

Well, you can get lower end models for ~$500 shipped. I have a lower end EOS Rebel XS and for a novice such as myself, that camera is more than sufficient.

why wait? costco.com 50D with all possible options, I would by Nikon D90 for 1179(lens included), because it's great SLR + hard to find bad lens for Nikon.

    there's a BIG difference between slr's and dslr's.

this is a decent price for a t1i... i have been following them online since april and this even beats the ebay price. If you don't like buying from ebay and you don't mind signing up for the ebillme thing this is a decent deal.

that is if you want to spend $800 on a camera. There are many lower models for $500 or so that are just as good for the everyday picture taker.

too much resolution for the amateur, have fun looking for hard drive bargains to go along with this one. and new cameras are great, but old crappy lenses still suck

I ordered the Canon EOS XS for $500, but haven't gotten it yet. Then I saw this has video, too. If I got this, I could avoid carrying a second [video] camera around. Might be worth the extra $300. Any holes in that logic?
    #9   bryankees - Posted 1:18 pm PDT 06/9/09 (33 Posts)
no.. nothing wrong with that logic. Step up, get the video. There are times I want just the shot, but there are times I really want a decent video too. Have to pull out the old P&S for that. Not fun. If you can part with the extra $$, do it. Video was the next logical step. No legit reason for me to upgrade my nikon d40 other than that.

This is Canon's latest prosumer digital camera, rendering your XSi all but obsolete.

Wow, 15.1 MP! #7 is right. If I get this, I would have to re-think my strategy of shooting RAW. (More cards, more HDDs, etc.)

This might sound weird, but the low pixels of a Nikon D40 (only 6 MP) is actually a selling point if you shoot RAW.

#5 D stands for digital, but cause all cameras we talk about here is digital non problems to call it SLR.FYI DSLR just means just digital SLR nothing elso.(sorry, may be u still using tapes & rolls?)
